Hear from the Director of the UC Davis Institute for Psychedelics and Neurotherapeutics, Dr. David E. Olson, associate professor of chemistry and biochemistry and molecular medicine. He shares how psychedelics induce neuroplasticity and why that is relevant to treating a variety of brain conditions. Viewers will also learn about the institute's efforts to develop safe, effective and more scalable analogues of psychedelics.

How Veterinary Medicine is Benefitting Human Health
UC Davis Veterinary Medicine has the potential to do more for humanity than ever before. What will we do in the next 75 years? Animals are benefiting greatly from human health innovations, while veterinary medicine is also becoming increasingly important to human health.
Hear from Dr. Kathryn G. Koehler about the groundbreaking translational medicine research taking place and how the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine is leading the way. Dr. Krystle Reagan shares how artificial intelligence (AI) is being integrated into clinical decision-making and how it can be utilized in human health diagnostics. Dr. Michael Kent and Dr. Robert Rebhun are working on cures for cancer in animals, and in partnership with UC Davis Health, they are working to translate this research into cures for cancer in humans.
Digitizing Agriculture: Drone-based Plant Monitoring
Professor Alireza Pourreza describes some of the exciting research of the Digital Agriculture Laboratory underway on the UC Davis campus.
Dr. Pourreza presents his research on the use of digital agriculture and aerial sensing for monitoring specialty crops and generating site-specific management zones for precision farming.
Learn how digital agriculture, through the use of drones equipped with cameras and other sensors, collects high-resolution data on crop health, water stress and nutrient deficiencies. By using this information to create site-specific management zones, farmers can more efficiently apply inputs like water, fertilizer and pesticides resulting in higher yields and improved environmental sustainability.

Behind the Science to Save the Lake: The UC Davis Tahoe Environmental Research Center
Known for its remarkable clarity, Lake Tahoe is considered the jewel of the Sierra Nevada. However, over recent decades, factors such as land-use changes, habitat destruction and the introduction of non-native species have led to the degradation of the Tahoe Basin.
Join us to hear from the Director of the UC Davis Tahoe Environmental Research Center (TERC), Dr. Geoffrey Schladow, professor of civil and environmental engineering. He will share how TERC is advancing the knowledge of aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems, how it communicates science-informed solutions to the public and its goal to use the research and education lessons from Lake Tahoe to lakes around the world.
Vertical Watercress: Health Benefits From Growing Leafy Greens Indoors
Professor Gail Taylor describes some of the exciting research on indoor vertical farming underway on the UC Davis campus.
This research includes training the next generation of vertical farmers and growing diverse wild germplasm of the superfood watercress in these exacting conditions. Watercress is the most nutrient-dense leafy green on the planet, and in addition to being packed full of vitamin C, also has a peppery chemical that is known to have anti-cancer properties.
Learn how growing indoors provides an opportunity to produce this food crop in clean and highly sustainable conditions with a 90% reduction in water and land requirements. In addition, we show how these conditions can help to enhance cancer-busting chemicals.
